The DWE7491RS is unique from many comparable table saws in that it features a rolling stand that adds much-desired portability. If you have experience with table saws, you are well aware of how convenient that feature can be. Of course, we aren’t just examining it because it has a few wheels. It also happens to be a high-caliber saw that could potentially enhance your work. Let’s take a closer look at the DeWalt DWE7491RS review to see if it is the table saw for you!

Searching for the best table saw for your money but aren’t quite sure what you need? We’ve got you covered with our table saw buying guide.

Dewalt Dwe7491rs Review

The DeWALT DWE7491RS offers pretty much everything you would need in a Jobsite table saw. Excellent portability due to the included rolling stand. The large rip capacity and rack-and-pinion fence ensure accurate cuts even on large boards while the powerful 15 AMP motor shouldn’t have much trouble with even the hardest woods. This table saw is a great choice for the serious or hobbyist woodworker.

Why we like
  • Portability – The included rolling stand makes moving this saw around the job site a breeze.
  • Powerful Motor – 32 1/2″ rip capacity and a powerful motor makes quick work of even the hardest woods.
  • Dust Port – Easy attachment to various dust collection systems.
Why we don’t like
  • Not much to say – About as close as you can get to the ideal table saw for the day-to-day woodworker.

What’s in the box?

Fairly straightforward, but that is exactly what you are looking for with this purchase. Additional blades are going to be bought separately (they are fortunately very affordable) and aside from that, you don’t really need anything else to get your table saw up and running!

Pros & Cons

Now that we know all of the specifications, let’s examine some of the pros and cons of this unit to better understand whether or not it is a good fit for your shop.

Why we like it

15 Amp Motor

The good thing about a powerful motor is that it gives you a lot of options. A powerful motor allows you to use your table saw for both harder kinds of wood and softer woods. The versatility is a big plus if you plan on using your new tool a lot. In the case of a less powerful motor, you may be able to adequately use the saw on softer woods, but you’re running a lot of risks trying to use it on harder woods.

More power allows you to approach any job with confidence.

Dust Collection Port

This saw is also designed to connect easily to a dust collection system. This feature is important for several reasons. For one thing, a good dust collection system is going to help keep your work area clean. This saves you time later on, and it allows you to focus only on the job at hand as you work.

A clean workspace also ensures that you don’t have to worry about any unnecessary distractions as you cut. Excessive dust can make it difficult to see your cut line which inevitably leads to mistakes.

Thirdly, and most important, the ability to hook your table saw up to a dust collection system is also important for the sake of your health. In recent years, it has become increasingly more well known that sawdust can lead to myriad forms of cancer and other health risks that you as a woodworker will be very susceptible to if you do not take the proper precautions. That being the case, the ability to collect dust from your work area is a feature that should not be underappreciated.

Portable

Generally, table saws are, by definition, not very portable. It’s one of the few setbacks of an otherwise very essential woodworking tool. The DeWalt still isn’t going to be as portable as some other tools out there, but as far as table saws go, this model is competitively mobile.

The wheels attached to the legs make this unit about as portable as a table saw can get, which is great if you ever find yourself in the position of needing to move it.

Does the need come up often? Not necessarily (although that is entirely relative to your own unique needs) but when the situation does arise, you will certainly be glad that you have the wheels to use.

Why We Don’t Like It

Not Many to Speak of

I might have simply said “none,” but that could rightly lead to skepticism. No product is perfect. That’s a universal truth, but the Dewalt Dwe7491rs is about as close as you can get. The features are everything that you would look for in a good table saw, and they are designed with a quality standard that ensures they function as advertised.

Does that mean that every single individual unit is perfect? Of course not. People, unfortunately, have received duds.

If you ever care to take a look at some of the customer reviews on a site like Amazon, you are mostly going to find people who are very pleased with their purchase.

Of course, you are also going to find people who received a package that wasn’t up to par. Perhaps the motor was a little inferior, or the integrity of the fence was in question.

Let’s put it this way: when everything is going right, this table saw is everything that you want it to be. If a part of the equipment experiences a defect—well, it’s unusual, but it is also what the warranty is for.

Warranty

The warranty is always important—especially when it comes to big-ticket items like a table saw. The warranty on this particular tool is fairly standard. It features a one-month money-back guarantee, a one-year full-service contract, and a lifetime limited warranty.

The lifetime limited warranty covers any errors pertaining to craftsmanship or electronic components. If, however, you alter your saw in any way, the warranty becomes void.

Conclusion

Who should buy this saw? Anyone that values quality, power, and versatility. Like all DeWalt products, the  Dewalt Dwe7491rs is of the very highest quality so if you pride yourself on your woodwork, this model really is an excellent option.

Investing in a great table saw today is an excellent way to ensure better woodwork tomorrow.
